We are adjusting to our house.
Dad is going to fix some of the electric. So much for renting so we don't have to do repairs!
We have really enjoyed the backyard. The sunshine and warm weather gave us some time to be out there together. Jarrah was racing around and Emma was playing on the swingset. Grey was giggling everytime the wind blew and took his breath away. He stared at the trees moving in the wind. He will definitely be an outdoor type boy. Jon trimmed some bushes and I raked some leaves.
This afternoon we played in the basement. It's empty and large so Emma has the little tykes rollercoaster set up down there and loved riding it. Jarrah chased her which Emma didn't like. Greyson loved watching. He kicks his legs and squeals.
I'd say we are more than adjusting. We are settling in and loving it here. I found some cleaner for the wood floors that hopefully wont' make them feel sticky under foot. I took the removable border down in Emma's room. It came off easy. Yay! Underneath is a regular wallpaper border stuck fast. Boo.
I bought some Downy to use to remove the border and I hope it doesn't take more than a few hours. Then I am on to painting! Her rug should be in next week. We ordered it from Home Depot last weekend and they said 7 to 10 business days.
I am down to 5 weeks of work left! In some ways it is going really fast. I'm thankful for the job.
I think God is pushing me again. I know He is. I am reminded of all the times He has gently nudged me along. And I know that He only pushes me when He knows I am ready for it. I need to make some changes in my spirit and my attitudes. I am open to conviction and even welcome it. I want to be more like Jesus. I don't want to stay the same old me forever. So I have prayed for conviction. I know He will do it. He will show me what needs to change, how to change it and the strength to keep changing.
A friend reminded me of the following verse:
2 Cor 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
That's my personal challenge right now. I want to do more than just adjust. I want change.
And I want to do this with joy.
