We are technically in our "new" house. Everything is over here and several boxes are unpacked. However, we are having trouble finding things. It feels weird to be this spread out. Also, everywhere I look I see a project. But those projects will be fun things to tackle one at a time.
We are sick. The knocked down, dragged out kind of sick. The kids have had it since February 5th. Jon and I have had it twice in the last month and I have it badly this time. We had fevers, cough, weakness, sore throat. I have had laryngitis too. It's been a rough several weeks.
We hadn't been to church in weeks. I don't like skipping but we are so germy and cough so loudly that we figured we better stay home and keep it to ourselves.
On a positive note, Jon hung real curtains for me today!!! Those of you who know me, know that I have wanted curtains for years. However, our homes have largely been transitional. We hope this house is where we stay for a long, long time. But even if we don't, I have curtains. And I am enjoying them! My sister gave them to me when she got new ones and I really like them.
The curtains and the new blinds Jon has hung in other rooms are starting to make this place feel more like our home. It still doesn't smell like us yet. And I'm big on smells. But we'll get there. As soon as I can start painting it will get rid of the old smell I'm sure.
Here is to a better week this week. But if not, as I wrote a few posts ago, I want to choose joy and contentment, even when the road is uphill.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!

With enough of your delicious cooking, your house will smell like you in no time! I'm excited to see the curtains and can see how satan would want to rob you of joy by inviting you to choose discouragement instead of encouragement. You honor the Lord with your choice, and it's a good reminder for your friends (like me!) to make choices like that in our own lives, too!
